Welcome back to my blog.
Today I am going to talk about skincare. I am basing this blog on natural skin care.
I went back through my college notes and did some study for this blog and I hope you enjoy it.
In order to have healthy skin, you firstly need to take care of it from within. What you put in your body shows on your skin.
Eating a healthy balanced diet is step one.
Yes, we all love a nice takeaway but they do affect the skin. So cut them down one a week as a threat.due to all the grease in takeaways it can cause breakouts and make your skin more oily.
To ensure healthy skin you need your vitimins.
To ensure your body and skin is well hydrated you must drink lots of water. Try to drink two and a half litres a day. My cardiologist recommended this for my heart condition.
Sleep is another key factor for healthy skin. When you sleep your skin cells repair. Tiredness can deprive the skin of the energy it needs to recover and regenerate. So make sure you get your beauty sleep.
Always protect your skin by using a moisturiser and a SPF. This will protect the skin from UV and free radical damage. Weather, heat, cold, sunlight, air pollution and cosmetics all cause damage to the skin. By using a moisturiser and SPF you are creating a barrier between your skin and environmental damage.
Exercise- this stimulates blood flow and oxygen to the tissues, which are needed to help build collagen to plump the skin and fight ageing.
Always keep your skin clean and avoid getting clogged pores. Cleanse twice a day even when you don’t wear make-up. Always do a double cleanse to ensure skin is completely clean. I’m currently using the garnier micellar water and I love it.
Some natural ingredients and benefits.
Dry/mature skin- oil based cleanser, like a cleansing cream.
Toner- using a toner helps refine, cool and refresh the skin.
Exfolitation- your skin sheds a full layer of skin once a week. To help with this I exfoliate once a week.
Masks- using a mask every week after exfoliating helps to treat the new skin.
Natural homemade masks.
Dry skin – ½ a banana, ground almond and olive oil, mix together or use a blender, apply for 10minutes and wash off.
Oily skin- 1 egg white, few drops of lemon juice whisked together and apply for 5-10minutes.
Oily/congested skin- salt, olive oil and juice of ½ lemon rub gently onto skin and wash off.
Homemade face scrub- honey and brown sugar.
Thanks so much for reading. I really hope you enjoyed this blog.
