Little miss make up
Hello my lovlies,
Today I am going to explain another one of my conditions to you, which is dysraxia.
What is Dysraxia??
Dysraxia is a lifelong learning difficulty which was first defined in the 1980s before it was known as clumsiness.
Patients with dyspraxia have difficulty with motor control and with speech. the ondition overlaps with many other conditions such as :
it also can lead to anxiety and depression.
Dyspraxia / DCD ( developmental cordination disorder.
This condition affects the gross fine motor cordination in children and adults. An individuals co-ordination difficulties may affect participation and functioning of everyday life skills in education, work and emplyment.
Most people arent aware they have this condtion and it can ber very fustrating. people always fob it off as clumsiness but it is an actual condtion which can have a big impact on your life.
Some of the effects of this condition are as follows:
-Problems with time managment ( If you asked anyone who knows me I am so bad at time management- this can be very hard for anyone to keep a job and be reliable).
-planning and organising ( this is another part which can really affect a job or school).
-poor balance ( I am forever falling over and losing my balance I nearly feel into the fire last night, I could stand in one spot and lose my balance, the amount of times I have walked into the door or door frames and tables in my house, I am full off bruises).
-Poor posture ( this is something I really struggle with, with more than one of my conditions).
-Difficulty with throwing or catching a ball ( I used to love sports as a child but I was never any good, I was ok with camogie as I didnt need to catch or throw the ball but football was another story I was brutal).
-poor awarness of body position in space.
-poor sense of direction ( I always get lost, thank god for google maps and navigation).
- Difficulty in hopping, skipping or riding a bike ( I cant for the life of my cycle a bike, I ant balance on the bike, I did cycle as a child and fell off so many times but as I got older I got worse and now i cant cycle at all).
Sensitive to touch.
-Confused about what hand to use ( I always say I am left handed but I use different hands for different things, I switch over and back).
-slow to leanr to dress or feed themselves.
-Find some clothes uncomfortable ( I tend to have a love hate with clothes, I could wear certain things but after a hour or two I get highly stressed and have to get them off me).
-Difficulty with reading and writing ( I am awful at reading, I really struggle with it and I hated reading out loud in school, writing- well I cant spell to save my life as ye probebly can tell from my blog posts).
-Speech problems, slow top learn to speak and speech may be incoherent.
-Phobias or obsessive behaviour and impatient- ( well phobias- yes I am terrified of moths, butterflies and the dark, I sleep with a night light).
That is my explanatin of Dysraxia. I hope ye found this interesting and that ye enjoyed it.
Thanks so much for reading.
Lots of love,
